Oh yeah, I forgot to tell you, we are also raising two Red Angus Steers for the 2008 Sonoma County Fair, and the kids should be receiving their Dairy Replacement Calves soon.
Welcome to North Bay Junior Livestock Breeders Blog
This blog has been established for the supporters of North BayJunior Livestock Breeders.
There has been a dramatic decrease in farmland in our area, along with that, some of the young farmers and ranchers have moved on.
Our goal is to support our young local farmers, ranchers and breeders with their education, training, shows, sales, auctions and self-esteem.
These kids work hard every day of the year, caring for their land and livestock. They endure cold days, wet days, muddy days, hot days and never get a vacation. When asked if they would have it "any other way", they always answer "No".
It has always been a pleasure to spend time with these inspiring young people. They need to know that their efforts are worth every second that they spend caring for their animals and land.
Whether it is a chicken, rabbit, cavy, steer, pig, dairy, goat or lamb project, these kids are making a difference.
I personally would like to make a difference in their lives, but I can't do it alone. They need support from all of us.
Please take the time to acknowledge our young farmers and ranchers in any way you can.
